• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Happy to Sad in less than 30 min with my new limited

Just picked up brand new limited :spyder2: . First time owner, have not been on a bike in about 20 years. ... wife and I are very happy (though she did not get to come along with me to pick it up) ...no to the sade part....
made it about 20 minutes down the road and all of the lights including check engine came on. :gaah:...now waiting on the shop to come pick both of us (me and the bike)...

Any suggestions???

So much for enjoying my first 75 miles before the rain comes in for the next 7 days. Thanks

Wonder what's going on with the RT Limited production? My Spyder had the ACS position sensor link disconnected causing the rear suspension to fully inflate. Also had the steering angle sensor plug not fully inserted. Now it is in the shop today trying to figure out why in the last two days I am getting "Check DPS" warnings. I suspect a poor battery connection. :(
Hopefully your fix will be quick so you'll be back on the road soon.

Sorry to hear about your problems. Sounds like set-up glitches--once solved--hopefully you will enjoy your new :spyder2:'s.

Thanks...I'm checking in for the hubby as he is on his way back the shop (via truck) with the bike. I'll let him know of the comments/suggestions.

Hopefully, it is nothing major and we can get out on the road soon.

:congrats: Although you may have hit a speed bump on your first adventure,
hopefully you have good dealer who'll take care of you and get you on the road.
It's gonna be a great summer for rydin' !:2thumbs:
Let us know when you find out what's up with your new ryde.
:welcome:

I have a newbie question for you veteran folks. It seems to me reading these threads that MOST of the issues with the spyders are coming either as soon as they leave the lot of shortly thereafter.

So, my questions is, who is responsible for the crappy prep? the dealer or can-am?

How much assembly is required by the dealer?

Thanks
john

In my case the problems were with BRP assembly. However, mine is back in the shop with "Check DPS" warnings. Haven't heard from the service department yet. The last conversation I had with them I was told they were waiting for input from BRP. :( Hopefully I will get it fixed before Spyderfest.

The PDI on the RTS and more so the RTS Limited ( I think the dealer installs the GPS ) is huge the thing comes in pieces ! Also they stopped doing test drives so a lot of stuff that would normaly get caught on a test drive is being missed ! I'm reading more and more post with regards to the battery not fully charged or lose connections .

test drives

Why did the test drives stop?

Maybe brp should send out a memo? Charge the :cus: batterys fully & tighten all connections :cus: . I mean these are the dumbest reasons for people to get stranded.

:agree:
They have sent out a memo but you can't make them do what they are asked to do.

Ah, ok. I thought someone had said they are not required to test drive them anymore. Seems like a no brainer to me. Unless, they don;t want to get stuck down the road...:roflblack:

I just found this is a note from the middle of last year
"BRP - we actually pay dealers to do a 30-minute test ride before delivery."

Thanks again. Nice to part of a group that had such fast responses. Husband is just called and is leaving the shop on the :spyder2:. They say it was the conntections. He has 1hr 15min ride home and it's to start raining in 1 hour :yikes:. He was really hoping not to get caught in it since this is his first ride on the bike. Keeping fingers crossed he makes it without getting stuck in the rain or along side the road again.

Thanks again!! Can't wait to put some miles on!!

When I picked up my bike from the shop last week therewas a note on one of the new :spyder2: on the floor HAS NOT BEEN TEST DRIVEN. No mistakes that way.

At least if he does get caught in the rain, the Spyder is the easiest to drive and safest ride in rain conditions that I have ever experienced.. but its more fun to ride dry so we will wish the for him...:welcome:
