• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Handlebar risers

This is a Newbie question. How much trouble is it to install the 4" handlebar risers? Is any cutting or modification necessary?

There is a little cutting, If you can open a can of Tuna you won't have a problem. [measure ''twice'' cut 'once']
Also When you do the installing have a set of new hand grips ready'
I reused the old ones, But if i would have had new ones on hand i would have just cut the old ones off and saved a lot of time and aggravation.

I like riser blocks. No cutting, looks stock and easy removal. I know you loose handlebar lock and I am working on a Fix but some do not even care about handlebar lock It's really matter of extending the hole where bolt locks into , plus I would not want to cut stock handle bar on a 2011.

AKA1004....what is the source for the riser blocks?

I bought my first one from a vendor here, Spydercity but after a year of waiting on a fix (i was told by owner of spydercity that it was a oversight and they will figure something out and everyone who bought a block from them will get the fix when they come up with one) for handlebar lock only to be told "we are not working on that" i sold the block out of spite and bought another one. I would have understood if they said something like it's just not feasible for us to come up with a solution but last email I got from spydercity was "no". Just two letters to my question. There are couple of vendors on eBay who sells the block on and off and there was a guy here who made like 6 of them and were selling them. Check the "for sale" threads.

:agree: Thats what I did :2thumbs:.

i agree with video except i have done 2 sets of these the second set was on my girls spyder i cut factory grips off and replaced with aftermarket ones save me time and head aches .... and i installed everything on new bar ends before putting risers in place ...worked a bit better for me ....

Yeah but that looks crappy! :roflblack::roflblack: Bean, you KNOW I'm kiddin! Those bars are sick. And it's a great option. A bit of work I'm guessin though...

Jeez... Now I'm feeling the spyderlovers love! Thanks for the compliment. It wasn't too terribly hard, just required a fair amount of measuring and test fitting. I measured several times before I drilled the frame and relocated the ignition switch. I took the old adage of "measure twice; cut once" to the extreme. The bars are actually very easy to install after the others are out of the way.
