Handlebar Grip Vibration

Hi All.....I just bought an 08 Spyder and I'm new to this forum as well. So far I love 'em both. One problem that I did notice is that my hands get numb from the vibration after riding for awhile. I see that Can-Am has made anti-vibration grip inserts, so I'm assuming that I'm not the only one with this issue. What have other riders used? Any luck with the Can-Am grips? Has anyone tried the Kuryakyn Iso-Grips? I like the Kury's by I have small hands and find that the grip feels too large for the hands. Has anyone found a "dress up" grip with a smaller dia like the OEM size? Thanks again for everyones input.

As you ride the:spyder2: more you will start to relax your grip and not notice the vibrations so much .Numerous post on the subject from BBs in the handle bars to counter weights on the bar ends. I have the Kuryakyn Flame grips and love them, i agree they are much thicker. If you order grips the bar dia. is 7/8th

I had this same problem and it all went away with the Kuryakyn ISO Grips. I have small hands as well and find that these grips fit perfect since i don't have to close my hands and helps to relax the grip some.

Some have been happy with the anti vibe ends and other have gone another route of using a throttlemeister weighted to do a throttle lock as well as weight the bars some to get rid of vibration.

Some things that help:

BB's in handlebars or get a Bar Snake.

Grip Puppys that go over your stock grips.

Handlebar risers from NMN.

Bar end weights.

Loosen your grip.


For me the very best thing I did was to install a Throttlemeister. The TM allows you to 'lock' your throttle and remove your hand from the bar. It also has end weights to help with vibration. Before the TM I could only ride for 30 minutes - now I can go all day!

welcome I had the same problem!!! I posted a thread on July 13th, Look up the thread "couldn't feel my fingers". In the meantime, I have learned to relax and not grip them too hard. Flex and wiggle your fingers while driving. At stop lights I would rub them on my legs. I also bought another set of gloves with gel palm pads, that was a big improvement.
Being 5'5', I lean forward too much. That causes me to over extend my arms which restricts blood flow to my hands. Try bending your elbows, I scooted forward in my seat.
I have a 4" inch riser on order, waiting for them still to come in. I ordered the Kuryakyn Iso grips last night. My husband has a set on his bike, big improvement.

Do you have risers? I find some of the numbness is due to the stock bars being too low, causing a lot of my upper body weight to transfer to the palms of my hands. I'll be adding risers on my next dealer visit.
I found some gloves that have more palm padding and that has helped some. I also installed the BRP anti-vibe kit and it lessened vibration, but others have posted alternate ways to add weight to the bars.

Risers will help. I personally have the billet anti-vibe kit and it works great for me.

I have the bar snake, Kury ISO grips, and a Throttlemeister. Took away a lot of the vibration. My hands still get numb when I go on long trips, but thats when I start using the Throttlemeister. I have been letting some of my buddies who own spyders ryde my bike to see how the 17" rims feel compared to the 14" and every time they get off the bike, they tell me they want to put Kury grips on there bike because they like the cushion grip.:yes:

Throttlemeister nice as it has weight and you can rest your hand, at times...
