• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Handlebar bolts

I need to remove the GPS bracket from my 2012 RT but am not sure what size the bolts are. I have tried both a torx and hex bit but neither seems to fit well and the bolts are really tight. Can anyone confirm whether it is a Torx or hex (or even a star bit) and what size it takes, I believe it is a 6MM but not sure. Also any tips to get it moving, as I said it is real tight.

Thanks for your help.

Handlebar Bolts

I have a 2015 RTS and mine are 7mm standard hex. Turned really hard due to loctite, but my 7 mm wrench was for a socket wrench and eventually broke loose with extra leverage.

Double check your hex sizes

Most hex kits jump from a 6mm to an 8mm, cmar. I had the same initial issue, coz I assumed my kits had fully sequential hex drivers.....wrong.....None of my 3 hex driver kits had a 7mm included. I had to buy another larger kit that included a 7mm.

7mm Hex and get a LARGE one as you will need the leverage.
Or get a driver that fits on a socket wrench.
Harbor Freight has them.
