• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Handbar movement?

Handlebar moves about 1/2" at the ends without moving the tie rods. I that normal?

Short answer is 'YES', with some proviso's; but what PW2013STL asked above is fairly important to really make any further discussion meaningful.... I'm guessing an early RT with the 1330 motor?? :dontknow:

However, there is a known issue with the steering knuckle bolt coming loose over time. Most dealers know about it and it can be fixed by tightening the bolt without any drama.

Curious...🤔

are we talking full free play or spongyness. I find when running lower tire air pressure (especially on Kendas) the steering feels like it has play went moving about engine off...

No it is not normal I will be going to a dealer to get mine fixed I road a friends bike and it has no play , I was told it's the center steering rod I had a friend that got it fixed

All the experts tell me it is quite normal. I have the same and stopped worrying about it. If you check 10 RT's you will find 8 of them have about 1/2 " play with engine off. I do not notice it with engine running.

If it where completely tight, at our age and shaky hands we would be all over the road, Right! :D
