• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I'm wondering if there are any Licensed HAM Radio ( Amateur Radio ) operators here on the forums.

Have you installed any radio.? ( HT or any kind of mobile Radio)
if so can you please share your experiences and show some pictures.

I have a Nolan N43 helmet (with bluetooth) and am planning to install a VX-8R on my 2009 SE5.

N8JRH here. I'm debating whether to put in a 2-meter system or CB. I don't hear much on 146.52, so I'd be limited to local repeaters. With a CB system, at least I can talk to someone wherever I go and get reports of speed traps.

Either way, I'm putting one of these APRS units in the Spyder so friends and family can monitor my location on the web: http://www.byonics.com/microtrak/mtaio.php

Thanks, a very valid point from you.
I guess T will opt for a CB system too.. a Midland system ....

and maybe the APRS unit too.

Wow, that's kinda cool. I didn't realize that handheld CB was do-able. A resonant whip for channel 19 is something like 8.6 feet. There must be a heck of an impedance-matching network and/or coils in there.
