• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Not sure if you have but, you should goggle HEAT STROKE and get yourself familiar with the after effects and what to be aware of should you continue to feel somethings not right. None of my business...I know. Just do it. OK

Oh thank God you're all right! Definitely had your guardian angel with you today! Let us know how you do with your ryde!

My Point

FireFly,
I don't know you other than from your posts, but please get checked out. Just last week my daughter was on guard duty (Army) stationed in New York. She was not feeling well, and fgured it was nothing too much to worry about. Her fellow soldiers that were doing duty with her kept telling her she better go back to her room. She kept saying it was nothing, she could handle it, and she did not want to get in trouble. Finally two of her group took her by each arm to take her inside, and on the way found her CO, explained to him what was going on, and he promptly told them to take her to the medical clinic (I don't know military term). Upon going there they gave her an IV, some other medications, and sent her to her room where she slept for 16 hours straight. Said it was heat exhaustion, and was close to becoming a case of heat stroke. You should go get checked out just for the peace of mind.

DUDE!!! I know I haven't been very active on the site for a while, but I can't believe you waited until today to call me! I'm super happy you're OK...but I keep thinking; I'm usually behind you on road trips (that's way I'm called "The Stalker"!). I "guess" I would have stopped for you!...that is, if you didn't kick that debris up into my face! :yikes:

Take care bro!!!

If I salvage the spyder I am going to name it "Death Machine Too" and Seth and I are going to get matching jumpsuits with capes!

:roflblack:What color do want for the capes? I'll start on them when I get home...DM1 and DM2:roflblack:

Not sure how I missed seeing you guys in Durango.... but did get to see your son-in-law......

Ask him what his super-hero powers are that I bestowed upon him.......;)

Still waiting for estimate to be complete and for insurance guy to come up with a final figure. It's amazing the bike is still ride-able. After looking further into it..... it's really quite the mess.

Measuring the swing arm near the rear axle... there is a 1 inch difference from one side to the other down to the ground.

We're talking a 1" difference across a 15" span from the left side of swing arm to the right...... that's a TON.

Only reason belt it most likely staying on and working is the belt tensioner... (shameless plug... lol)

On the front, things just seem off too. Where the trunk mounts to the frame there is about 3/4" difference from side to side. The impact pulled the mounting screws right out.... same with the cowl mounts.

The front A-Arms look off.. like the left side is bent back a bit.. and that tire is bowed out.

Again, I can't believe she rides.. and still rides pretty good.... but cannot be safe without new frame, etc.....

------------------

So Len let me take an RT for a ride..... never rode one before.... gotta say that I'm REALLY impressed in the ride, etc.....

IF... and this is a BIG IF..... they total my 2008 GS PE Spyder out... and IF I can buy it back for salvage..... then I may consider an RT for road trips... and then take the GS home and rat it out for around town....... try and twist frame out... weld some support in ,etc......

So then I would have best of both worlds.... the cool bike for around town and the RT for big trips.

Should know in a bit... just depends on $$$$ and all. Really didn't want to spend more $$$ right now on a new bike.... but may be forced to do so.... if I want to ride.

Len and Cowtown have been great as always......

just a prediction

"So Len let me take an RT for a ride..... never rode one before.... gotta say that I'm REALLY impressed in the ride, etc.."

Congrats on getting a new Performance RT!!!! what color? :roflblack:
