• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Had an accident today....

Glad your ok Dan. I'd be cautious riding any further than you have too. There may be something you missed or can't see that may cause a problem on the way home. Id get it to Cowtown and if they say it's ok to go home then I would but I would error on the side of caution.

Good luck. Keep us posted on the repairs.

Dan! I'm so glad you're OK. Definitely take Monday to get yourself checked out because it can take 48 hours or more to really recover from heat exhaustion/dehydration. Keep us posted on you and your Spyder.

Len is the man--- yet again....

Well, heading to Cowtown in the morning... even though they're closed and it's Len's day off. He's gonna meet me there and we're gonna tear down the Spyder and see what's going on.

Just doesn't get any better than Len & Cowtown.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Really felt good on the trip until yesterday and the 109 heat... my body just couldn't handle it... it caught up with some of the other guys too. Two of my HD buds continued all the way home today and made it safe... the third one crashed with me for a bit at the Super 8 in Macon and then went on to Chicagoland area to see his daughter and grandkids...

Sure glad to have friends all over the USA that are willing to help someone out!

Thanks all!!!

Had a great trip... and am now even more secure in my choice of the Spyder as THE safest way to ride in the open air.

Glad to hear you made it trhough ok. Like others have said, a spyder, as much as we love them, is easy to replace. Since you said you had the chills, it sounds like you might have begun to show the signs of heat exhaustion/stroke. I hope the spyder isn't damaged to severly and is reparable. Hope the rest of your trip is good. Dale

Looks crooked doesn't it???

You're too funny...all concerned about the bike and all...you could've been killed! Glad to hear you're okay and, of course, that the bike damage is not toooooo bad...I'm sure all with that will be fine.

The bike can always be fixed...the body can't always be fixed.

Count your lucky stars and don't wonder about 'what if' scenarios...you kept your health and that's honestly all that matters.

As far as the full face shield goes, well, you know where I stand on that.

Take care and have fun at Cowtown...I'm sure your Spyder will be 100% soon enough!

Dan glad you're ok Bro. spyder can be replaced.

I went down on my two wheeler on June 7th, was in the hospital for 2 weeks just got home this past Friday. Now comes the hard part trying to recover and get my strength back very hard when you live alone as I am in a wheelchair for a few weeks more. Riding season is over for me.

Whoa!! Never good when hunks of concrete start flying around....as already said, the outcome could have been much worse. Glad you're OK!

Yeah, it does look crooked. :banghead:

I wouldn't be putting a foot's worth of any extra mileage on that bike before you get it looked over Real close... You've got something bent; what's bent has been fatigued and get let go on a moment's notice! :yikes: Please be careful; I need you around for lively discussions about speeding tickets!

Tough deal man, good luck with your recovery!

Just wanted to chime in and say that I am so glad you were able to handle the situation and stay safe. I had a similar experience with the heat. Rode all day Saturday with another couple, about 5-6 hours into it, I was not holding up well. Started getting sick, made several stops to wet my hair, etc. Unfortunately, the couple with us had no riding experience so I could not pass over the Spyder to one of them. Made it home fine, but I also experienced the chills and sweats all at the same time. Lucky for me,no rode cones:) Even today, I am not 100%, so please pay attention to your health, it will not take much to put you back into a bad heat situation again. You need time to recover.

I'm really glad you were on three wheels. I don't think a two wheeler would have stayed up after hitting concrete. It's bad enough to be hit by something, it would have been much worse to go down because of it.

So sorry for what happened, I hope it all works out ok. Did the truck ever stop or even realize what it did to you?

close call!

It's good to hear that you had something left in the "good luck well". I hope you and Len only find minor damage to your ride.
