• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Had an accident today....

First off.. I'm FINE... other than exhausted from riding in 109 degree heat!!

Second--- yes-- had an accident on the highway today and glad I was on the Spyder. If I was on 2 wheels I would have kissed the pavement @ 70 for sure.

Semi truck hit a couple of large (3 or 4 feet tall) pylons -- ones with cement blocks on the bottom--- they hit the spyder (cement and all) going 70. Tore a front fender off-- somehow busted the cowl and it appears the frame or swingarm are bent. Also twisted and bent one front highway peg- glad my foot was not on it.

still rideable, but feels a bit strange at low speed. Went over two of the cement blocks and pylons- not sure how I held it together and missed a cement blockade wall.

Heading to see Len of Cuba Cowtown fame tonight or in the morning since I'm in Macon, MO and see what he thinks of the damage.

And YES-- I was wearing my full face helmet... been wearing it the whole trip.....

Holy Cow!!!! :yikes:

Glad to hear you're OK!!!!

I thought you may have been in the construction up in Britton, MI, but then I saw you are in MO. Shocked to hear you can still ride the Spyder!!! Good thing you're close to Cowtown. I hope it can be fixed in a minimal amount of time for ya!!!

ACCIDENT

Thank God you are OK , very sorry to hear this news.....I believe someone was watching over you.....Mike....

Sorry to hear you had a run in with road debris. Glad you are OK. Hope the Spyder can be fixed reasonably easily. Here is a case when a tall windshield may have served you well.

Hi Dan, So sorry to hear about this and glad you are o.k. I suppose the semi kept right on going too! This could have been so much worse and I'm so glad you are o.k. and didn't get seriously injured. Take care and I hope you will soon be back in the saddle again. Hopefully wizard Len can get you fixed up and back on the rode. :(

So glad you survived such an unpredictable situation. You must have had an angel on your shoulder! Best wishes for a quick and thorough fix for the Spyder.

Yikes ! :yikes:

Glad you are ok .

If the frame is bent , I bet the insurance company totals it , that's the way it usually goes .

I hope everything works out in your favor !

Glad you're ok...

Another good example of why it is good to stay as far behind or as far ahead of big trucks as you can. If you have to pass, do so quickly and get away. One never knows what they will kick up or will come off. They are notorious for dispatching those Interstate Alligators sometimes right across our windshields...good luck....:f_spider:

 Glad that this one didn't come out a whole lot worse than it did! Please let us know what the repair bill looks like; Good Luck!

Glad you are OK. That could have ended badly. It is a jungle out there jousting with the big boys. One of the reasons I don't like traveling on the super slab.

If there is anything I can do let me know. I would be willing to head down that way with the trailer if needed.
