There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. H M Exhaust

I know it is a sound like no other. I didn't mind the loud pipe on mine. My Excelsior Henderson is extremely loud so I am use to it. If and when I modify mine and put it back on ,I will try and find a chrome or stainless glasspack. As you know I went with a HMF because of not satisfied with look. More so because of the diameter being smaller. But I really miss that sound. I know how excited you were to get this project up and running. Good for you ,I am glad you got it on. Looking good!!! :2thumbs:
One question ,Did you strap a hanger on it?

hanger

the hanger is a steel mending plate welded to the back side, with about 3/4-1'' offset. available at any hardware store for a buck or two. it's about 1 1/4'' by 5'' by1/8'' just form and cut to length. attaches to stock hanger bolt. i'm using AMTJIM'S technology on the baffle.ss drain strainer, spacer and ss pot scrubber material, then another strainer, then ss nuts in the outlet tube. thats what the bolt is for in the pic.

That is one red hot tamale. The elbow looks good, is it mandrel bent? I don't see the crimp rings. You made your welds? That would be handy.

off the shelf

everything i used is right off the shelf. installed strainers in outlet tube to quiet things a bit. not exactly the sound i want yet but i'm still playing with it. welding was done at big papa's car audio +wheels where my son works.:clap:the elbow has crimp rings, 6 bucks at advance. i wish i could weld, just never learned.

loud

it's very loud, do you know of a similar glasspack that isn't a straight through design, or that has some steel baffles in it. when i get on it this thing will wake the dead. when i put in the strainers it's not loud enough, any thoughts?:spyder:

No, both the Cherry Bomb and Thrush are similar. I remember some of them were directional, perforated sleeve inside was flared instead of flat. Helped scoop the exhaust coming in and routing it through the glass. I'm a little suprised that size glass pack doesn't eat a few more decibels. You may start looking into some of the tuner cans, they have a different interior than the glass packs. Glass packs do need some use, the sound does change. Just more experimentation.

thanks

thanks for the input. i'll keep playing with it. got the ss scrubber material. i think the strainer holes need to be bigger to increase flow, then subdued a little with scrubber. it is 10-12lbs. lighter than stock system, and w a y smaller.:clap:i'm really just trying to mellow the sound a little, so it's not so raspy. it is fun playing around with it. paint is done, re-installed, working on pics. posting pics is starting to sink in.exhaust tip tomorrow.every one should have one of these, just to p/?s off that one irritating neighbor.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,does anyone know if there is a satin or semi gloss high heat paint?,,,,,found satin/semi black, rustoleum bbq black ultra, at lowes, sprayed pipe today, still looking for that perfect tip. i've just about found that sweet spot, sound wise, not to loud, not to quiet. the best part is it can be adjusted as desired in 5 minutes, forever. thanks AMTJIM.......finally found the perfect exhaust tip. this is a modified martini shaker that we already had and never used. that means...free. new grand total for h m exhaust.....wait for it,,,,,,,,,54 dollars.
