• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Guess what I'm doing...

I thought that he was infusing his Can Am with some Honda GoldWing DNA... :2thumbs:
Gene splicing; now you'll have the best of both Worlds! :firstplace:

I have the Spyderlovers writeup. Any other tips?View attachment 49280

I haven't read the write up, but a few things come to mind from my experience.

1. Another pair of hands is very helpful.
2. Slide the gaskets on the header pipe and then the exhaust pipes on the gaskets, working both sides together.
3. Have a "persuader" handy for tapping/beating as needed.
4. Be careful of the O2 sensor if it is still hooked up.
5. Keep a cold beverage at hand so, when things aren't going just right, you can drink and act like you are thinking of a solution.

Looks like number 2 and 5 are of priority. Thanks! Gene splicing lol. I'm at 10k and half way done with the 12k service. I had a backfire that felt like it was coming through the plastics and suspect the right gasket is shot..

So far...

Belt tightened
Oil changed
Coolant changed
Air Filter
Lubed (Lithium greased) essentials

Pending...
Exhaust (Honda gaskets)
Plugs (Iridium)
Wires (Accel)

Deferred..
Valve clearance
Bearings (done at tire change)
Buds check

At 10k miles and the original gaskets, there is no doubt they are shot. Probably by 3-4000 miles, if history is any indication.

Hence the backfire lol. I wonder how long the Honda ones last for. I couldn't find any service requirements for gaskets before 12k... Strange.

My gaskets went out at 8K on my GS and were replaced with the Honda gaskets. At 19,500 they were still in good shape. I would reccomend that you go back and tighten the clamps after 1K. I started to get the backfire and I thought they had gone bad again, I found mine lose.
