• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hint - Yes, it is damaged. I had to replace it, so I do know what it is. Just posting this as a start for something else (y)

Looks like an inner ball bearing race...
Wheel hub bearing or whats left of it..
Y’all were both close, but not quite. Granted, the tech said it was oddly unique when they saw it too.
FYI it's labelled simply as a spacer that fits between the bearing & the swing arm on the brake side.

When the bearing failed, it welded itself to the inner race

(the crack is the seam). Aluminum to steel weld, mind you!

With enough damage & heat, we thought it best if we replaced the rim.

Quick summary: I believe this is the result of hitting large patch/bump that launched the bike airborne less than a month earlier.

Yeah you didn't notice anything before the failure?

I would think it would be more bearing failure or axle not torqued properly.

But then again you would think the rim would have been damaged too??
