• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Guess someone named Kevin Bliss needed to make a point? Yes, you can flip a Spyder

To my eye this looks like it was done on purpose.
The person doing this is too experienced to have done this by mistake. (or just got really lucky)

Watch the part of the video where he steps off the bike as it flips.
That's not something you would normally do without some experience.

This person likely was testing the limits of the Spyder and was trying to flip it. That takes a LOT of skill to do without hurting yourself.
The throttle control is good until he lets off at the wrong point in the slide. If it was kept pinned the back would have continued to slide easily.

My small bet would be on that Kevin is pretty experienced with hooligan-esc riding and was ready for this 100%.
Certainly would not go as far as calling him stupid. Maybe not the decision I agree with but not stupid.

Everyone take a deep breath...

"It ain't easy being green" and it sometimes takes a tough skin to go against the pack. Ask me how I know. :roflblack: :roflblack:

I for one like to see both sides of a story. Don't take stuff here to personal. That's when things get fired up and need further attention.

There is a video of someone who flips a riker very easily by rolling backwards. He did it by accident. He stepped off of it to. Then he discusses how the accident happened and how to avoid it.

I've done stupid things on my spyder. I won't be posting them. I don't know which side of this argument I come down on more. But it is freedom of choice and freedom of expression.

Yup! Watched it, made a comment or two, not going to try it myself. It's filed in my mind as avoid and don't do this. Life goes on. :coffee:

New guy here, considering a Spyder after test ride this spring. Presently have a Can Am Defender and still enjoying the XMAX 300 but the Spyder looks very interesting for my next ride. A great forum here and in depth information.

As far a Kevin's "experiment" I tend to agree with 0h400ex. What it shows me is the limits of the machine which is important to me. Just like testing your car or bike on a closed track the machine usually is capable of more than you will put it through but important to know what happens when you push it too far. In this case nice to have someone else do it so I can watch and learn. Should not the nanny have kept his machine on 3 wheels normally?

It is not the first time I've seen someone abuse a Spyder or Ryker with what looks like just the intention to destroy the vechicle. Check out the video below where a Ryker is thrashed.

I must admit I get a little triggered by someone destroying things for the sake of... enjoying to destroy things and get attention? But at the same time, if someone wants to destroy their property, or risk their own health, that is their decission and their right :)

And we even have a name for them. It's "beta tester." They are at the forefront of the testers. New adapters of Spyders, I did three of the first year, first model ones. There are also some beta testers doing the new Kenda K9's.

RE: Nanny: She is pretty good under "normal" conditions. I was saved from hydroplaning twice. Trying to force the limits, IMO is not "normal" operation.

Personally I think people are being a bit hard on Bliss. I see what he posted as a Public Service Announcement so others can see what could happen and to be careful.

first of all this Bliss dude is real stupid trying to flip a Spyder and secondly, more stupid to post the videos!! He is running on single digit IQ!! It is obviously he could not hurt his head cuz there certainly is nothlng in it??????
BIG F

Just like on Facebook - so many Karens and keyboard warriors here. Why all the name calling and attacks? Would you do this to your Spyder, no? Okay - cool. Guess what - he would. He did. He shared the video. You don't have to watch it.

I say kudos to him. Looks like something I'm likely to do. All you keyboard warrior name calling folks just sit back and be ready - I'm sure there's something else you can flame and attack coming soon.

I don't think you really understand what the word Karen or keyboard warrior means, but aside from that, When people post things on an open forum or platform, they are opening themselves up for kudos and ridicule.
