• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. After some injuries and 13 knee operations, I decided its time to graduate to three wheels. I have been riding Goldwings, also rode the snot out of a VStrom, but had to quit due to horribly wobbly knees.

I just made a deal on an 08 GS with 7700 miles. I should pick it up sometime this week. Looking forward to it, indeed.

I will be doing some searches here on the forum for some mods, Mrs RDW wants some armrests.

Anyhoo, time to add to my lifetime mileage total... looking forward to this new ride!

Hi RDWII,

Re: looking forward to this new ride!

Welcome from a fellow Oregonian; who is also a 2008 GS owner.

This one of the very best forums I have been a part of. Lots of good info to be had; and don't be afraid of asking any question.

:welcome:

I rode a 2012 Goldwing for a couple of years. A few assorted Hondas before that, and then a Victory for a year or so before my body told me it was time to go to three wheels. You made a great choice in the Spyder. Lots of great people in this forum also. Welcome.

Welcome..!! Welcome..!!

to both this sometimes puzzeling yet informative site and the spyder world. Congrats on the new ryde..:2thumbs: have an RS (re-named GS) and loving it. Just turned 30,000 fun filled trouble free miles. Your both going to have loads of fun with miles of smiles and array of service station question...enjoy...

Welcome! Congratulations on your new GS! Great bike that will bring you many, many miles of enjoyment! There is a ton of knowledge here! A quick search will usually answer any question, if not a post will get you lots of advice as well.

:welcome: and :congrats: on your GS. That is a fine bike and you will like it a lot. Speaking of mods:

Here is a picture of my 2008 with a "few" mods. It was overkill, but I did a bunch of things. Visible and not.

HI !!

If you like the Spyder half as much as your V-Strom...... you'll be enjoying it.

The 'strom was the ONLY motorcycle that made me grin from ear to ear each time I rode it.

My Goldwing was "king", but the 'strom was the "court jester".

I myself have the same issues with my knees,I purchase a 2014 Can Am Limited Rt I love it.welcome this is Michael from St. Louis .
