• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Grommets for side panels

I have removed the side panels on my 2011 RT and have damaged a couple of the grommets that hold the panels on. Is there somewhere I can purchase these ? Is this a BRP specialty product or can I find them somewhere else? :dontknow:

Honda goldwing parts

Honda goldwing uses the same grommets, any honda dealer have them 4 to 6 bucks for a package.

I've seen them at my Spyder dealer.

Grommets - hold them in...

I have used small cable ties every time I take a panel off to insure I don't lose these grommets....all that I do is use these small cable ties to tie the grommet to the hole frame it's mounted to -- I just use one cable tie per grommet.

If it pushes out when replacing a panel, at least it will be there to put back in the hole. I did this after finding a grommet (luckily) on my garage floor after removing one of the panels. Works great!

Photo showing cable tie to insure grommets are not lost......

Hello my spyderlover friends....

I saw on a previous post and also have done on my 2012 Spyder RT Limited --- put a small nylon cable tie around each grommet to it's mounting hole/frame. Might hold them in better, but will definitely help you not lose them. I had one fall out (found it luckily on my garage floor) and I thought about the previous post stating to use cable ties. Haven't lost one yet by this method!!

Everytime I take a new panel off, I remember to do this to the exposed grommets. Over time, should get to them all.
