• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gremlin Bell Replacement

Thanks to Spyder Tony's posting, I went out to my Spyder to remove the Gremlin Bell during the trade in.
IT's GONE:( :yikes:.

What do I do now?

Do I break the news to the original giver? Should I anticipate a new one from them?

Or do I keep it to myself and wait for another generous biker buddy?

ps. I've been having major problems with my bike shortly after leaving the Owners Event @ Durango, CO on my way to Washington state.
The construction zone in Idaho is probably where it happened.
That was just too much for the bell to overcome by it's self.

Bell still on...

....when I traded my '08 in I left my bell firmly attached - for the new owner as a gift from me. My brother, Bob (also a Spyder Rider) furnished me with a new bell for my '10.

Once on the spyder, it should stay on. That's just me.

Don't know..!!

that has not been explained anywhere I know of. But if I understand it correctly the bell stops gremlins from reaping havoc on your bike. So if it is working it should stay with that bike and your new bike should have a new bell...jmo..!!

Hmmm.... there is no rules set in stone about what happens to the bell when you trade or sell your bike\:spyder2:

I pulled mine out since it was a gift from a friend (this is my opinion), so I believe the bell stays with the rider, not the bike. If it stays on the bike, I don't know what to say... but it has sentimental value. However, when I got my new :spyder2:, my wife gave me one and had it blessed by my Priest. I kept the old one in the garage and eventually placed it in my new :spyder2:.

Both hang together in the brake lever with a ziptie.

Bell was gift from wife. Changed it from last byke to Spyder. Don't know the protocol but I think a gift should stay with the receiver.:thumbup:

That Bell I kept; it didn't protect me, so I wouldn't want to leave Ron with a potentially dangerous Bell...
