• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Hi all!
New to the forum and new rider of anything motorized with less than 4 wheels :D
A coupe of weeks a go I picked a 2013 RT Ltd and I'm so glad I chose a Spyder as my first bike.

It's been easier getting used to riding it than to the constant thumbs up from people around me.

Great forum!

great first choice !

your first cycle also ? just remember , beware of those 4 wheel cagers ! they are busy , with opening mail , and texting , that 2 and 3 wheels are far from there sights ! other than that ----> have a BLAST

Welcome welcome....

To both the spyder world and this awesome site. Great choice, congrats..:2thumbs: half the fun is getting used to it with miles of smiles and all but the best part is it never ends...:ohyea:

Welcome aboard, I wish you many Myles of smyles on your new Ryde.

While looking at your picture it appears that you chose the same Byke I did for my first. A 2013 Black Current RT Limited. Don't listen to the nay Sayers about the 2013 model this is possibly the best sub 2014 model that was made. The black current models out perform all other colors ever produced!

Just make sure that the heat venting recall was done and you will be good to go, I promise. Also make sure that you read the do and don't section for new Ryders this is crucial for getting the most out of the V twin.

Enjoy, my friend.

Joe

Thank you for the tip. I did not know about the heat venting recall. I will research it now.

Julio, I'm so Jealous of where you live... I lived on EAFB years ago and one of my buddies was from Hacienda Heights, WE Loved TCR! Though that was in my 2Wheel cafe bike days....<G>
But of course, we really liked Bouquet Canyon Rd from Pdale to SClarita then back to the basin from Azusa on San Gabriel Canyon Rd. I'm sure you have many, many more favorite routes
through the mountains. I'd do almost anything to ride those routes again, alas, living out here in the plains of Minnesota, we have NOTHING like what you do.

Enjoy and count your blessings brother Spyder rider.... Ride On, and on and on....

It's my very first bike, got it about 3 weeks a go and to my luck the rain has been off and on so I haven' really ventured any farther than my daily work commute (10 miles 1-way) :)

I do love driving up the mountains but haven't tried yet on anything other than my car. I'm a couple of blocks away from a small winding hill, Turnbull Canyon right behind the Rose Hills Cemetery. I've tried it on my Spyder and I can easily say I will love a longer trip just as soon as the rain eases up a little.

Thank you for the tips on those routes. I'll make sure to try them soon.
