• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Great Time At "Spyders in the Adirondacks"

Just wanted to share how great of a time we had at SITA. We arrived home at 6 p.m. after an amazing ride through the mountains in 2 states. We chose to ride today instead of going to the casino for the awards banquet because of yesterday's rain. Really wanted to go for a cruise so we did that on the way home. I will be putting together a short video of the ride home from Lake Placid into VT and pictures of the great people we met there. Thanks go out to Marc for organizing the event. Arnt' U Fun; You're an animal dude! Holly, U Rock!!!:thumbup:Here are a couple of shots from today:

:agree: I arrived home about 7.30 Rode back with StanTheMan [He should be home by 8] It was a great time. Only bad thing about the ride home was just after Stanley passed a 18 wheeler, i started to pass him to [on the left side] he blew a right tire so i got sprayed with the small pieces, the large pieces hit the cages following him :gaah:

Highways suck. As do main corridors. We took all secondaries home and it was INCREDIBLE. Found some wicked fun roads leavin Lake Placid. The only Main road we were on, which sucks as well is rte 73 to Elizabethtown. Talked to a couple of bikers at a stop in the back country and they said the road to Scroon Lake is awesome. County Highway 4 maybe. Can't remember. Tight twisties the whole way. Pretty much what we were on for 200 miles. Great ride!

BTW, glad you came thru that unscathed. Never got to mention how much Lisa and I loved your Spyder. Great job on it dude!

What kind of turnout did they have for this event? I know that they had a good thing going with Spyders in the Smokies (but BRP stole their thunder this year) and I wondered if its carried on with the change of location.

73 to E-Town is a decent alternative...! Rte 30 works pretty well running North/South to avoid the Northway...

Not sure of the actual #. Didn't seem as good as I expected.

Marc said there were just over 100 spyders and 160 people that signed in.

It seemed to me that they drew a lot more people to SITS than they did to SITA, but we had a great time in the Adirondacks, too. (Besides, it gave us a good reason to go to Spyderfest Magog ). Stayed at a campground with some other Spyder lovers :clap:, so it was a lot of fun. Could have done with a better day for the poker run, but that's part of riding. I've turned into a motorcycle junkie...yesterday I was googling "motorcycle rallies" that will be on our way home! Is there a local MA (Motorcycles Anonymous) or SA (Spyders Anonymous) group? :joke:

sounds like y'all had a good time....I'm in New York tonight...on I-86 near Hornell...and headed to Maine for lobster...then we'll head home to Texas

Home at last

Just want to let all my old and new friends that I just arrived home safe. Got dumped on a couple of times. My neck is sore. I put ice in a towel and that fixed it. Bike ran great but, the last 2 times I filled up there was a lot of pressure build up in the gas tank. Something is wrong with the vent in the gas cap I believe. The vent lets the tank breath. I'll check it tomorrow and change the oil. This trip was close to 4000 miles. I think I'm going to have my seat re-padded like I did on my RS

Does anyone in NY have a camera,I would have thought someone could have taken some pic of SITA and post them. nojoke

Modern fuel tanks vent through a dedicated vent and the emissions canister, not the gas cap. You may have to chase your situation a little farther. I'd have the vent valve solenoid checked via BUDS first.

I just looked at the pictures I took and realized that I only took a few. We rode to Niagara Falls yesterday and I didn't take any pictures but several people took mine! Lake Placid was beautiful and I recommend it to anyone looking for a scenic place to ride. I think the turnout was pretty good for the first year. I would definitely go there again.
