• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Great leg of the run

I took off from Santa Rosa NM about 9 am and made it to Goodyear AZ. That was about 600 miles.

The wind was pretty strong most of the trip and that makes for a tense ride. The big trucks and mini vans were fighting the wind as bad as I was. I was glad to get out of it when I did.

I found at 75-80 mph in the wind I was getting as low as 21.5 mpg. I am towing a loaded trailer too. If I dropped down to 65 mph I could get 28.5 mpg. So for sure in wind like that it's better to slow it down a bit if you want better mileage.

Coming into Flagstaff was great. The mountains were covered in snow and the sky had to just enough clouds to make it picture perfect. I didn' get pulled over till after I got on 17 but you can get the idea here.

It's funny, as soon as I pulled up to the scenic view point a trucker came up to me and starting asking about the RT, he rides Goldwings but loved the look of the RT.

Then a couple came up and they were all about the RT. They've been looking at the Spyder for over a year now and had never seen the RT up close and personal. The gal loved the storage of the trailer too.

I'm glad to hear that you had a good run, despite the wind. I would imagine that after spending the time in the motel, you were ready for a good ride. Good luck on the rest of the ride.

Good to hear you are getting better weather. I gotta ask you - I mounted my hitch & harness 2 days after I got my RT, I don't have the trailer yet. but my question is Do you ever get the hitch mud flap catching or hanging up on any thing say like a speed bump?

Oh Yes, every time I pull into my driveway. There's not much clearance under that mudflap.

I grew up in AZ anf Flagstaff is one of my old stomping grounds. I hope to get out there in about a year and a half, assuming my spyder is fixed by then:dontknow:
