• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Great Lakes Cyclone Ride

Went for a nice but really windy ride today. Sustained winds at 38 mph gusting to 60. We rode about 150 miles round trip to Muskegon, Michigan for a Patriot Guard mission. This was a homecoming parade for a unit that returned from Afghanistan definitely a nice change from the funeral escorts that we have done lately.

There were a couple of times that the road turned into the wind and I really wasn't sure if I would be able to make the turn. It felt like someone was shoving me and a couple of times it actually made my helmet pivot. The RT handled pretty good. But the sun is shining and the temps are relatively warm 63 so it was a great day for a ride.

Thank you for riding with the PGR. I agree Welcome is a much better Mission. However we can not choose the weather for the Mission.

Thank you too for riding with the PGR, my husband and I try to go on as many missions as we can. Don't get me wrong about the weather yesterday, I really had fun. Before I had my Spyder I would drive to the missions and just stand on the flag line.

PGR

Hope to see you on some of the PGR rides CanAnn. We joined a few months ago but it seems that everytime there is a mission I'm either working or it starts too close in time for me to get there. Oh well, ride safe

Thanks you for being in PGR. I ride on some missions. The wind was tough but my RT S held the road well. Semi passing was a blast.

I'm on PGR as SFCSpyderman :2thumbs:
See you on a mission
Ride safe:2thumbs:

I hope to meet you all on a mission. I don't have a user name on PGR but my husband is CPTJAM.

Did either of you see the news last night about Central Michigan University having those idiots from Westboro Baptist Church speak at a class about freedom of speech? It was on our local ABC station. I think there are better ways to discuss freedom of speech than to enable those jerks by paying them.

Baptist Church????

I did not see the news about that but when my wife's son was KIA in 2006 they were supossed to be there. They fortunatly did not show up citing the family made threats. Which I know first hand never happened but I'm sure the 20 plus fire trucks with water guns discouraged them. The PGR was present for the funeral and we both were very impressed and wanted to show support to other families who are griving that REAL AMERICANS do care.

I'm so sorry for your loss. My husband rode on that mission. There was an article in the Grand Rapids Press yesterday about the Westboro church at the college. You can get it online I think at MLive.com. I didn't read it but my husband said that there were over 100 people present protesting against the idiots from Westboro.

Good give them a taste of their own medicine. Hope it helped. But there is no reasoning with ignorant people.
