• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I just wanted to pass on this great deal I found for a Garmin Zumo 550 brand new, not refurbished. http://www.techondigital.com/product.asp?productid=zumo550
$429.00
shipping
Ground $14.90
3 Day $35.44
2 Day $45.44
Next Day $64.86

I just placed my order. Yeah!! Or there is this site too. with free shipping. http://www.prestigecamera.com/ViewProduct.aspx?ID=3645363&l=Everyprice

Both sites have excellent reviews. I will keep you posted.

After all that, even though they say on their site the Zumo is in stock, they called to tell me it is on backorder 6-8 weeks. Oaky, I'll go to my second choice but for some reason when I hit order it gives me a weird screen. I looked it up and I saw some bad reviews that I hadn't seen before so I am not ordering there either. I guess it is true what they say, If it is too good to be true it probably is. I will keep shopping.

Now all you need is the XM smart antenna for XM radio.

The only thing left I need is to figure how to tap into the J&M microphone to connect to the Zumo for bluetooth phone connection.:dontknow:

I need some time and I will figure it out.

neither one of those sites have good reviews and they try to upsell you high dollar memory cards....good luck...usually if it sounds to good to be true it is nojoke

Yeah, I am finding that out. I canceled my order and made sure nothing was charged to my card. You know, now that I think about it, they didn't tell me the GPS was on back order until after they tried to sell me SD cards. They asked if I wanted any with my order. I told them no, I didn't need any. They asked what I going to use. I told them I already has an SD Card. Then they asked what kind and was I sure it was compatible. I told a little white lie. I said my husband already has the same GPS and we have cards for it. (He has the Zumo 450, close) It was only then that they told me it was on back order for 6-8 weeks and did I still want to order. I said no and canceled. They emailed me a cancellation right away.

In the last year or so I have bought 3 GPS units from Amazon.com.
All 3 times they were the lowest price, quick ship, great reputation.
Just my 2 cents worth.

I'm with SS I bought my 550 from Amazon. It was the best price out of all the well known websites. I just got my SE5 the other day so now I have to mount it and the xm antenna.:spyder:

does anyone have a recommendation to mount navigation systems. I have a Streetpilot 2650 (?) BMW Navi III plus. Like to mount it as soon as I arrive back to the states in 2.5 weeks.

Be very, very careful with online sites as many of them are scams. I ordered from one of these...once!!! Then when I found out that the items were 'gray', I tried to get a refund and had quite the dispute.

Go with trusted merchants such as Amazon and pay the extra money...nothing beats peace of mind!

For those who don't want the bluetooth capability, the 450 at Costco is a great deal.

I love my 550...Amazon all the way!
