Great 800 mile weekend!

Left Northern California on Friday morning and rode down to Solvang. Had a great ryde on California Highway 25! If you haven't been on this road it is a must! Catch it in Holister and take it down to 198. Great twisties and no traffic. In Beulton we had dinner at the Hitching Post Restaurant that was featured in the movie Sideways! Awesome steak cooked over Red Oak! Great ryde on Saturday just outside of Santa Barbara on West Camino Cielo! What a view of Santa Barbara below. Then over to Cold Springs Tavern for their famous Tri-Tip sandwich. Sunday it was up Highway 1 into Arroyo Grande and Doc Bernteins Famous Ice Cream Lab!IMG_0442.jpgIMG_0444.jpgIMG_0445.jpgIMG_0448.jpgIMG_0449.jpg

Great ride, great miles, and great photos. Nothing better than a great ride.:yes:

It has been a long while since we did that many miles in a weekend. July of 2012 to be precise. We picked up Linda's Spyder on a Friday. By Monday, it was past ready for its first 600 mile service. We had to wait an additional week for that--and then the miles were double.

Well we just got the bug when we rode to Valcourt. We sort of lost interest in the little day trips and wanted to see some country. The great thing about the Spyder is you don't get as fatigued as you would on 2 wheels. I find that ryding out in the open on the Spyder keeps me more engaged than I am in the car where I will tend to get sleepy after 5 hours.

Thanks

Great tag along photos. Love Solvang and the surrounding area. Stop over whenever out that way. Looks like a very enjoyable trip...:2thumbs:

California is by far the best state for riding that I've experienced, no doubt. As long as you can stay out of metropolitan areas that is. Solvang, Buellton, central coast. Awesome.

First long ryde on our Spyder

Solvang- what a great little town. Our first long ryde on our Spyder. Very scenic stuff once out of the urban areas.

Kaos
