There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Grease On The Back Fender

I have small lines of grease on the top of my back fender. Where would that be coming from?

The last time I cleaned the bike I noticed it also, didn't give it much thought. Now today I saw a little more when I got to work. I don't think I'm picking it up from the road as I don't see how it could end up on top of the fender.

Right, left or center? If left, rear wheel bearings.

It is on the right half. I just went out and looked at it closer and I see grease on the plastic pan under the seat.

When I get home from work I can post a picture.

Did you follow a Harley Davidson lately ??? I could be oil dripping from there bike. :roflblack::roflblack: But seriously, I hope you find the issue and let us know what it was.

I've had the same thing on my fender and plate. Looked like lines of grease or tar. A little goo gone took it right off. It seems to happen from time to time. I just had the bearings checked and they were OK. I think I just hit some soft tar on the road and flung it up somehow on the fender.

2010 RS SE5 grease

Noticed the same thing on the rear fender, seat pan, left saddlebag (GIVI bags). Just got the bike in April, a leftover 2010 RS. Something over 1000 miles when I noticed the grease. So what's up with the grease? Wheel bearings seems a good guess. Temperature was in the 90's, so maybe the heat had something to do with melting the grease allowing some to throw.

Streak of grease possible cause!

I tend to find the same thing when I take long high speed rides and forget to put on my full face helmet. Sorry!!!

The tire

is probably picking up lubricants and tar at the intersections. We mainly ride the two lane black tops in GA and FL and this seems to happen a lot in the heat of the summer. Ken krb1945

I think you are just throwing it up with the tire. The wind does strange things, and it can land where you least expect. The odd patterns indicate it is not moving fast, probably tossed out above the fender and landed by gravity and wind on the fender itself. Check your under-panel, it may even have fallen down after it stuck there.
