Gravity Brake Bleed Question

I know that some folks have bled their brakes by gravity only. I know it takes time. Can you bleed the ABS brake bleed nipple that way as well? Thanks.

No. The ABS unit has a series of spools (valves) and a pump that will prevent the free flowing of the brake fluid.

I don't think it is necessary to remove the very small amount of fluid from the ABS valving unit. Not to mention the headache it could easily cause if you attempt it. Removing the fluid from the rest of the system is more than adequate.

:agree:... I did the gravity bleed, my brakes are again great, didn't have to do the BUDS thing. I don't race so sometimes 98% is just fine …… Mike hyea:

I love doing brake bleeding since I added Speed Bleeders. They make the job so easy and the only tool needed is a wrench to open and close them 1/8 turn.

With speed bleeder you only open and close once.
