• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Grand Tour Kuryakn Luggage

Anybody have one of these to sit in passenger seat of RT? Even has Lumbar support, they look good on line and not much different in price between buying or spending money on a backrest.

I just looked up this one:

I like it! I am looking for both some luggage and a backrest. This might kill two birds with one stone. I'm going to call JP Cycles sometime soon and ask about fitment for a 2017 RT-S.

My wife and I each had one of these when we both were on two wheels. It's a quality product with lots of storage space. I'm not sure if it can actually work as a backrest on a Spyder or not, due to its dimensions and the relative distance between the bag and rider. It might. There are several ways to attach this bag, as I recall, but keep in mind that since it would be positioned on the passenger seat of an RT it's got to come off in order to lift the seat. Not a big deal but just something to keep in mind. If I was going to use one on an RT I'd just secure it to the passenger grab rails via bungee cords or straps through the D-rings.

I rode with one for 900 miles with it in the passenger seat

It was a great backrest. Bungee'd it through the passenger hand grips.

Went to J & P and bought one, tried both the grand tour and Saddleman's entry. Saddleman's was $180, Kuryakn was $170. Salesman let me take both out and placed on RT seat, Kuryakn fit the curvature of the seat better than the Saddleman and it seemed sturdier to lean against. The Kuryakn is smaller so less storage but felt that the Saddleman pushed too far forward pushing me forward and I figured I could add to the Kuryakn rather than subtract from the Saddleman.

Serves the purpose of extra storage and a backrest instead of just buying a backrest and since I'm not 100 % sold on the standard seat wasn't sure wanted to buy a backrest for seat I may not stick with.

Yeah, think the handles are best way to attach unless get a seat with fuel door.

Good info, Thanks  I guess when not doing distance travel I could just stuff the Kuryakn full of bedsheets or something to give it more backrest support. There is also the issue of not being able to ride 2-up with it, but I ride solo for now so not a big deal. I think I will go this route rather than buy baggage and Show Chrome backrest separately.
