• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

GPS: Small VS Wide screen

For those who have used both screen sizes:

Is the wider screen of a Zumo 660/665/350 a real advantage over the narrower form factor of the Nuvi 550 or Zumo 220 ?

My instinct tells me that what's ahead of you is more important than what's on the sides, but I might be missing something...

The wider screen gives more room for data next to the map, and makes touching the right part of a touchscreen easier. JMHO

Don't forget the iPhone

iOs 6.0 will have TomTom based turn by turn standard, replacing the Google Maps currently in iOs 5...

I find Navigon works better in vertical format precisely to see further ahead...

I have both the Zumo 550 and 660, the 660 screen is better and overall a smaller unit, but I really mis the physical glove friendly buttons.

everything in live should be glove friendly

I am also mounting my cell phone vertically in my car. Unfortunately, it is a Samsung Galaxy S, whis is unreadable outdoors.

I have the Zumo 220 and the screen size doesnt bother me, i dont really watch it though, have the turn instructions bluetoothed into my helmet.

Used to have a Zumo 220; now have the 665. I like the 665 much better. Super glove friendly, much easier to see and widescreen allows more info to be displayed.

The touch screen reacts better to the gloves than the 220, or it that the "buttons" are bigger ?
