• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

My RT Limited came with the Garmin 660 and was wondering is it the one with Life Time Map updates or do I have to pay extra for this update?

For what that thing costs, I would sure hope the updates are free. My $150 NUVI has free lifetime updates, using Garmin Express software.

I wondered the same thing with the GPS that came with my ST Limited. When I plugged it into the computer to register it I found out it did not have lifetime maps and that you only have 60 days to update the map from the first time it is turned on.

Edit update: You have 90 days to update map.

You can buy the 660lm through other placesI guess BRP cut a deal with Garmin not to offer them on the limited.

GPS

You have to pay. You will get a message saying time to buy updated may:banghead:. I thought it was life time. The GPS to buy after market is over $600. :hun: I don't use the map that much:shocked:. I like the fact it tells you what to speed limit is where you are at. Good English eh?:banghead::banghead::banghead:

When the deal was done between BRP and Garmin life time maps where not offered on the Zumo band.

Last year Garmin started to offer life time maps on the Zumo range, you can buy the update (code) cheaper from Amazon for $58.09 this will give you a code that will allow your unit to have life time updates. You update both the unit and base camp.

Life Time Maps?

Flip your Zumo 660 over, slide the battery release compartment latch and remove back and battery. Take a look at the hardware sticker under the battery, if the model number is 660LM... life time maps included, Model 660... you will have to pay for the upgrade. Garmin updates these maps several times a year and the downloaded application on your PC will remind you. A extra note on the topic, auto GPS from Garmin... if they have a (T) in the serial number the unit has lifetime free traffic alert.
