• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

GPS Options

As Scotty indicated, using RAM mounts and a RAM cradle specific to your GPS is definitely the way to go if you are looking for a cost effective GPS for your Spyder. You can hard wire it to your battery or a fusebox. Some have installed a 12 volt outlet up front and just plug it in up there with their 12 volt adapter.

Currently I am running a Garmin Zumo 550 GPS mounted on top of my dash and hardwired to my fuse block. I also have an audio out cable from my GPS connected to my audio connection in the trunk so I can hear instructions and music from the GPS on my speakers if I want. I run this system because it interfaces well with my cell phone and SENA SMH 10 Bluetooth helmet headsets.

If you do a search on "GPS" you will get a myriad of good posts on this subject. You may be surprised how inventive people have been in mounting cost effective, non BRP GPS devices, to their Spyders.

So many choices, good luck & have fun

When doing a search, its gotta be more than three letters, or it won't work. Try searching for "Mounting a Zumo up high" & that thread gives you just about all the info needed to mount a zumo to the top of your dash. We did this on Teds Red Sled & LOVE it. Its just one option among many:thumbup:IMG_20120229_180109.jpg2011-11-07 16.07.31-1.jpg2011-09-15 15.29.13.jpg16769.jpg075.jpg

I like the GPS higher up than where the factory mount location is so I just got a RAM mount and a longer bolt in the upper left bolt hole for the dashboard. The wiring snakes into the left front speaker grill opening and runs back to the battery. Clean and simple and no holes to drill for the mount. Disconnecting the analog fuel gauge turns on the digital gauge in the main cluster.
