• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

GPS mount above instrument cluster

I am not JThronton so cannot machine great new widgets but I can put together available parts in new and differnt ways. I had my GPS mount on the center of the handlebar clamp and really did not like it. Hard to look down to see it and since it faced up, the sun was always directly in it.

I wanted it above the instrument cluster and behind the windshield like I had on my RT. Mind you I only ride with the GPS installed on longer trips where I am not so sure where I am going.

I came up with a collection of RAM mount parts and a few hardware components and voila!

I am pretty pleased with the utility and stability of it if not the rube goldberg way of getting there. Perhaps JThornton will still come up with a bracket to replace most of the ram mount parts I used. Proof of concept at least.

Nothing wrong with a little Rube Goldberg ingenuity! That's a great location for the GPS. That will certainly do until someone (hint, hint) comes up with a proper mounting bracket.

Is that why there is a shortage of ram parts :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

Gps center mount

Got the ball from White Horse Gear in North Conway , NH. self tapping screws, should put double back 3m tape between the mount and the spyder

Ahh, this is an F3 discussion. And, JThornton already makes a terrific bracket for the RT that does not require you to drill holes in your dashboard.
