GPS for Spyder

I got a Nuvi 750 works great, why pay extra $400 when you can use a ziplock bag to cover it and it is mounted on top of the dash very close to windscreen and I believe the rain would have to be blowing from behind me for it to get wet( thanks to Lamonster for mounting tip) . I can get a lot more mods with that $400 I save on a GPS, I also have the 2610 on my other bike and it is waterproof and can count how many time I have gotten caught in the rain.

Roger, I have a Garmin 2610 as well, and I can't count the number of times I have been caught in the rain. I have really appreciated the fact it is waterproof. However, if the ziplock bag system works for you, that's great too. :thumbup:

I'm not sure what kind of windshields everyone is running out there but I've found that water does make it to the inside of the windshield in a rain storm. I think the airflow allows air and water up through the lower center gap and around the edges. Its not drenching things but I get water droplets on the inside of my windshield. :dontknow:

Well, I bought the Tom Tom 2, and it was defective right out of the box. So, I bit the bullet and have ordered the Zumo 550.

Should have known.

I, like SpyderGirl, got the Garmin 760, on ebay for $212. and just love this thing. So far haven't been caught in the rain. Mounted it centered on the dash above the safety card.

If money is an issue, check out this Garmin 2720 Street Pilot on eBay. Waterproof, completely suitable for motorcycle use, and less than $200.

Try navigating your way to an unfamiliar hotel in downtown Chicago on a motorcycle. I did this with my wife last year and I would probably still be looking for the right turnoff to take if not for my GPS. :dontknow: Simply put, my friends from Garmin removed all stress from that ride. If you are in unfamiliar territory, they are the best invention since sliced bread.
Next to the Spyder itself, my GPS is my favourite piece of technology.:2thumbs:

Garmin software is pretty user friendly, and it is not difficult to program in rural routes. :thumbup:

Don't get around to big cities here in bayou country. But the roads that run along side those bayous make for some pretty great riding!
