• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. GPS & CB Suggestions

I am looking to get the Garmin 665 for 2010 RTS. I also want to get a cb as well but don't know which one to get. I have looked at so many I can't keep track. I figured I would ask ya'll for your suggestions. Along with that what headsets would work best for a half helmet. Thanks for your suggestions.:helpsmilie:

If you plan on getting a CB which is integrated in the Spyder system, there is only one that I know of...it is from BRP and fits internally in the RT. I guess you can install some other CB on the handlebar, but don't know of anyone who has done this.

:agree:about the factory one. If anyone has a different one, I would like to know about it.
Have Fun:2thumbs:

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like BRP will be the way to go. I fogort about the satellite radio so I will need that as well. BRP has 2 GPS support and harness kits for the RT. Do you know what the difference is and which one to get and will the Garmin 665 fit it?

When looking into buying a RT-S, the Can-Am web site only mentioned the 660 (only) so that is what I told my dealer to install. My dealer, and I read on this site, said I would need "entertainment wiring" to hook up the GPS, CB and XM radio. I am not sure if it was one or two. You have to have them if you want your GPS intergrated into your sound system (and CB/XM)...otherwise the GPS has no sound to your speakers or headset. It is a complicated system. I do not know if the 665 would fit....

I have my 2011 RTS at the dealer now to be picked up tommorow. The dealer installed the BRP CB with necessary cables and installed the GPS mount from BRP on the handlebar. I bought and gave him a Garmin Zuma 665 unit to test. He called my yeaterday and told me that he was receiving XM radio through the bikes radio speakers. He told me that I need not buy the BRP XM system which I thought I might have to. The Zuma 665 work perfectly with the bikes system. I read threads that the Zuma 665 will not work on the RT's. That is not true. The only thing different between the 660 and the 665 other than price is XM radio and other added features. Hope this helps. I'm not sure what the settings or procedures on the control system to have this happen but it does work. That also means that your bluetooth phone will also go through the 665 and be heard through your speakers and or the head sets with the communication harness. I think big Orange (member) helpped him through the setup. I hope I'm right on that, If not Im sorry. Bob

Good news that the 665 fits and works. I only heard 660 and seperate XM radio from the dealer....I did get a $500 Spyder gift card when I rode a demo at the local motorcycle show...so that paid for my XM radio install.

I am having trouble setting (preset) the stations on my XM radio. When I go to, say number 10 and try to preset it, it jumps back to #1. I hear the sound okay but having this problem....kinda a clumsy set up.....

Thanks Lamont. I never seen your post about the Zumo 665. I liked the mount you came up with using the analog gage opening. I've read threads with people stating that their dealers said that you could only use the Zumo 660 and not the 665 on the RT's. I was trying to make up my mind which unit I wanted to use. The 660 or 665. I liked the added feature of the XM radio with out having to install the unit that BRP offers. You have a great forum with a lot of great advice, helping your members get through some of their problems and share their good times and ideas. Will contribute a few $ that I can aford to the Forum in the near future. Thanks again. Keep up the great work! Bob
