• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gotta be Truthful

Say it isn't so! My advice is also to hang in there. Make selling the :spyder2: as an item of last resort. I also believe the :ani29: can be helpful as something to look forward to. At this time last year, I was enduring crippling arthritis and thought it was all going to be over for me. It turned out that I was able to put about 16,000 miles on my :spyder2: anyway.

Please keep us posted.

I figured there was a reason why Land Diving never really caught on....
I'll send my wishes for a fast recovery, and if it's not a financial burden, I'd also lean towards keeping the spyder for a bit more. The regret of either not having it, or having to buy another one somewhere down the road will be far more powerful than the frustration of staring at it in the garage for a while...

Just wanted to say what a great bunch of Folks you are.. I have really enjoyed the posts, the pictures , the good feel here... I've added a couple of thoughts , not a whole lot though..

Wish I could have participated in your get togethers..

You all are wonderful people....

Last Summer I bought a beautiful white 2012 RS SE5... almost managed to get 12 miles on it before I went land diving out of the garage and twisted my left shoulder that was previously damaged 30 years ago...and has been abused many times in that time period..gravity really works.. couldn't even raise it without help from my right hand.. I healed up as I always have.. and was looking forward to now....I'm 65..... then 2 weeks ago I swung out of bed.. and forgot about my right leg being gone.. I don't do that often, but have on occasions , since that was 30 years ago.. but it usually involves a bit of calisthenics on my part...to land properly

which I didn't.. busted my ---t ,,,and twisted the left arm again. big time...trying to catch myself..... being realistic.. I know this will be another summer I can't ride.. so I am putting it up for sale... give me a few days to wander around in the garage and question my sanity before i put it in the sale forum here,, with the changes I did

guess it's not my Spyder Time at present..someone should enjoy this machine.. I love looking at it, but I get a little sad, and one can only start the engine so many times to just listen and dream

Take care.. as I become a lurker..

Here's wishing you the very best. As others have said, if the financial situation is not pushing (I can totally understand if it is) just take your time with your decision to sale. Here's to hoping things work out for you. Good luck.

Very sorry to hear this and I hope things turn around for you soon. You can always get another Spyder. Take care

So sorry to hear. I can't image how you must feel. Tough decision, but I wish you all the best in whatever you decide upon.

Here's what I'd do. Get some young thing in a short skirted chauffeurs outfit to drive you around until you recover! Us old guys have to be inventive!

my 5'4", 100 lb. 49 year old harley heritage rider wife would beat me up if i did that...

Thank You good people for the well wishes....

I was reading about the Ural with the sidecar , until I read the part where he said he felt like he had been wrestling a russian bear while riding in traffic... just what my shoulder really needs.....

I shall wait ,,, I've just been bummed out..

I rode a hack (R60 BMW with a Stieb chair) for a few years,in the early 80's. aged me ten years! It's like riding an under powered bike while dragging a dead cow.

keep up your spirits, keep up your bikes battery and sleep on the floor from now on!

:agree: At least with using the dream of it all to speed your recovery. Do what you feel is best but if the promise of getting back on the road motivates you, keeping the Spyder might just help.
