• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Got the lastest and greatest update today..

Is it available to all dealers now? Because mine is sitting in the shop right now, waiting for them to look at it sometime next week :(.
They weren't aware of a new update on Thursday when we took it in.

My guess will be next week. They will do a software update and extend the vent hose on the evap can to the front of the Spyder near the radiator. The guys that had it done before me and had problems before said it's a 100% better now.

:2thumbs: Seems like they recognized the problem... yea for BRP! :D Sounds like a new recall coming down the pike.

So, now we can get our update....Updated!?

But what if our update todate is working great!?

Should I update or procrastinate? That's the debate.

I'd say some will wait for a later date to see if it's love or hate with the new update.

Will the new update be considered a recall? If not, how will Spyder owners be notified about it? Especially those owners who are not members of a Spyder forum.

Lamont, would you recommend everyone who had the first update get the new one?

Does the update update need the update to work? Haven't been in for the first one yet, just wondering.

All good questions.

If you have not had the update I would get this one because it is part of the steering update.

If your bike is running fine from the last update then it's up to you. They do add a longer hose for the vent.

If you had the last update and have plugged your purge valve and all is well I wouldn't bother with it but that's up to you too.

I'm not sure how BRP plans on notifying the owners. :dontknow:

Wow! Thanks Lamont! That really clears it up for me~

So let's see, the coin landed tails up so I guess I'm not getting the updated update. :roflblack:

Even after plugging the purge valve I notice a bit of a sputter--- when it gets hot out. So I'm going to have the software part done and tell them not to mess with the rest.

Haven t had the first update yet . Coming up to my 3K oil change ... Maybe i ll wait a little longer for this update to the update to be a little more ..."slightly obsolete"

For those that haven’t heard. BRP now has an update to the DPS update. BRP was kind enough to send a tech down from Valcourt, Canada, to update Spyders, this past Saturday. During the “Spyder in the Smokies Rally”.

The tech worked his butt off both training the techs at Mountain Motorsports and updating Spyders himself. He got at the BBQ around 12:30pm. Started updating, Spyders around 1:00pm. He worked until 8:30pm. Those that were there late, know that Mountain Motorsports closed at 6:00pm. They kept the shop open so Daniel (the BRP tech) could get as many done as he could. Daniel did. Between Him, and Mountain Motorsports, 20 Spyders got the new update.

Being that my Spyder was on of the ones that was updated. Let me just say, this update is great. I no longer have any surging or any sputtering. Today I was driving through Texas in 97 degree temps. My Spyder just purred. It was a good day to ride.

Do not rush to your Dealer for the update. You will do nothing but waste your time and theirs. Communicate with you dealer first. They need to download the patch, and they need to order the required parts first. Yes parts, this update is not just a flash to the ECU but also a new vent tube from the evaporator canister. The new vent tube eliminates the gas fumes that some folks have been experiencing. Also, if you have not gotten the DPS update, that needs to be applied first, otherwise you risk creating more problems for yourself.

If you removed your canasiter, then it is only a flash to the ECM

Thank you to BRP. Thanks for sending a Tech, to update Spyders. You stepped up to help out as many owners as they could within a small time frame. Daniel did a wonderful job. He is a very dedicated, knowledgeable

Thank you to Mountain Motorsports. Thanks for extending your services, as you did. It was much more than was expected.
