• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Got that new comfort seat yet?

If so, how much did you pay and where'd you get it?

Most importantly, how does it feel on a longer ride, compared to the original?

I installed the passenger foot peg extensions and the new BRP seat the other day. Got them from my dealer, paid full price and don't have a problem with that. These guys have taken care of me since long before I picked up my Spyder. They are always making sure I am happy with the Spyder and the tech is great. If I have anything done he comes out and explains everything he did and the reasoning behind it. These guys know the meaning of customer service and they are just a nice bunch of guys. Marina Boat Sales in Lodi, California. I wouldn't take my Spyder anywhere else. The ride on the new seat was real nice, I think it will be great on the road to LA.

Got my seat today, and tried to install it, discovering that the instructions won't help you if you have a Sport Rack installed. After spending WAY too much time and trouble, I handed it off to a dealer whose service guys also hadn't changed a seat with the Sport Rack, so it took them a while to figure it out as well.

If you have the Sport Rack, SERIOUSLY consider having a dealer replace the seat for you. Possibly will be one of the best $50 you ever spent!

The seat is firmer and wider as reported, and does seem a bit more comfortable. Only rode for about 70 minutes but so far, so good. There is not a huge difference, but we'll see how that pans out over several hours.

Worth it, I think. Very nice looking too.

Paid about $450, California tax included (not including install.)

The sport rack is not a problem. Remove the 2 screws holding the bottom cowl and the 4 screws holding the top part of the rack and take of the rack base. The only thing holding it at that point is the cable end. QED

I agree, no big problem if you have installation instructions for the sport rack. Dealer installed mine and did not give me the instructions so when I had to remove it to remove seat, it was a matter of using the time honored disassembly technique; i.e remove every screw you can see and find out what holds it on.

:gaah:I have the Givi set up and had to take the top rack off before I could remove the old seat. after the rack was off it was easy to install the new seat.Went for a short ride today and the seat felt great, it also looks great. Can't wait to try it on a longer ride to Walkin glen in 2 weeks.:2thumbs:

Sports rack and comfort seat

Getting the sports rack lose is easy but how do you remove the cable that does the releasing for the backrest system? :dontknow:

The cable slides in at one side of the retainer. Look closely and you'll see a groove. Very similar to a cable actuated brake or clutch.

I did not take the sport rack off to put on the new seat. I did remove all the bolts and screws. This gave me enough play in the sport rack to install the seat. It was a tight fit though, but it can be done.

Put my new seat on yesterday. I got it from HondaToledoEast.Com. Received it under a week from the time I ordered it. No one had it locally and I couldn't wait. It took about 45 min to install because of the sports rack. Love the way it looks. The wife loves the way the passenger sits a little higher. Will give it a longer test ride this weekend.
