• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

so i went out today because it was cool this morning and we took a ride to oak beach long island. the place was packed with cars and bikes, i circled the lot twice and found a spot on the other side of the lot from my friends. after a lil t5he lot started to empty and i walked down to get me bike and bring it back to where everyone else was. so i get on the bike and start it up and start a slow ride between all the people walking down to the other end. all of a sudden i hear a siren and look in my mirror to see a bay constable in a pick up telling me to stop, so i do. he jumped out of his truck like i was killing someone and yelled at me to put my helmet on, and like a jerk i said, i am only going down to the end of the lot, with that he said, i know just put your helmet on, so i said ok thank you and shut the bike down to get my helmet out of the frunk, at that point someone came over and hugged the cop and i just put my helmet on and rode away. he did pass down and circled my bike but he never said anything else.

i am guessing he got mad because i rode the bike by him w/o my helmet on and it took it as a insult that i didn't respect him, but he did let me slide

Probably didn't need to take his cialias today:opps:

Cops don't patrol our parking lots unless they are city owned.

If you get bumped or some accident in a private owned parking lot, you basically are on your own here. Someone runs a stop sign in a private parking lot and t bones your brand new $50,000 car you're on your own. They just don't use their authority on private property unless asked beforehand by the property owner.

My guess unless this was a city owned parking lot is that he was abusing his authority...although for safety sake.

Curious..!!

I don't think the helmet laws apply even on public lots. Most state public roads and highways. They can suggest but seems someone :cus: In his cereal...:roflblack: Glad you didn't push him who knows where you would have ended up...:roflblack:

it is a town parking lot, there used to be a big disco there years ago but it burnt down. the local police and troopers hang there and write tickets for non dot helmets and inspections, i also saw i trooper once write a ticket for ape hangers because they were above the guys shoulders, the way he got out of his truck i was sure he was going to write me up so when someone he knew called to him i guess he just let me go.

Well that explains it, probably pissed off the disco burned down.

Probably knew it was a motorcycle gang that did it.

If you know that they hang there, and you still bait them... :dontknow:
What did you honestly think was gonna happen?

If you put your head into a Lion's mouth; don't feel bad when you come up a few ears short on the matter! :D

Different strokes for different folks. Depends on the state, county, city, town, village, cop or whatever.

John, it's obi, you know they bust chops there every sunday whether it be helmet, no front plate, parking on grass they look for an excuse to give a ticket.
P.S. i love my bike, thanks

They do in California. Same for private roads...not farm roads on private property.

If a Superviosr observes a obivious viloation and a Patrolman that does not do something about it. The Patrolman can get written up for not doing his/her duty.
