• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Got my SE-5 back!

As some of you know from reading the threads, my 2009 SE-5 has spent six weeks at the dealer for the not uncommon shifting problems-- mine having the tendency to stick in one gear or another until a ride would become so frustrating that, well, I won't say what I was thinking. Anyway, I picked it up yesterday and rode about 60 miles thereabouts. So far, so good. The dealer replaced a long narrow spring and a gear angle position sensor (?) and the shifting actually seems to be smoother up and down. No locking in gear so far. I'm not sure the repair had anything to do with the "creeping" in first gear when stopped, but that seems to have lessened as well. The service manager kept the repair ticket open just in case the problem decides to reappear.

I know that six weeks seems to be a long time, and indeed it is, but I'm just glad to have my Spyder back. The Ducati will now get a rest, and the Road King will become jealous again. Daytona soon ! ! !

Glad you got your SE5 back.

I hope your fixes stay fixed and the rest of the SE5 owners are either lucky or getting theirs fixed. As of right now, I am staying away from the SE5 model and eyeballing the SM5 instead. D. Reinhard, Ohio

Glad you're up and running. The spring, from what I understand, helps the clutch disengagement.

The original production gear position sensor was instrumental in throwing false codes to the ECU as well as the other processors. There was a a new version put into production in Oct/Nov.

Read this for how the Gear Position Sensor (the angle sensor) affected my SM.

:congrats: I hope it is a permanent fix. I have had some intermittent problems, but the dealer says nothing is wrong. I going to try another dealers service department when the weather gets better.

I guess it is the month of love...everyone got their spyder back.

:O( Mine went back in Friday for throttle surge/shifting/overheating problems. Tech is in touch with BRP trying to solve various 'fault codes'. Then again, the month is not over yet...
