There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. I'll post a "How To" later but it wasn't that bad and I kept the heated stock grips. I would post more but I've got new speakers to install. :ohyea:

I am very interested in this setup. I have the Kuryakyn ISO grips on my HD Ultra Classic and love them. I wanted to put them on the RT LTD when it comes in but was told I couldn't because of the heated grips. The stock grips are okay but they feel too small diameter for me. Keep us posted.

These look great. Do they still let alot of the heat through. Actually high heat is almost to much anyway. Very neat mounting design. Thanks for posting them.

Will these help any with vibration?? :spyder:
Yes, I have the same grips on my RS.

Not sure yet but I would think so seeing they work great on the Goldwing and those grips are not as hot as the RT grips.
I have those on my GL1800, that us if they're the clam shell style. I looked at putting them on the RT but figured the RT grip end was too big around. Did you have to trim or remove the end?
I had to trim the end with a knife to get them to fit. I have the SE so I had to trim the paddle shifter a bit too.

Great Grips!

Hi Lamont ...

I had been entertaining a set of the Wing clamshells, but had heard from another poster that it interfered with the SE5 shifter. Also curious about the extra length of the grip and what you may have had to 'trim' from the stock grip rubber for a flush fit.

DOH! You answered my questions just as I was posting.

Bottom line -- Looking forward to your "How To"

Thanks

Reps from Kury were at Barney's in St. Pete just the other day. I spoke to them about making grips just for the RT. They told me that the company has a bunch of new Spyder accessories they will release shortly.

I did this mod about 6 months ago and love it. As for heat transfer, I run them on high and get about the same as the stock setting on low...which for me was a good thing, stock high as just too HOT. The only downside is that the outer rubber "knobbie" have no internal support.

Outer "knobby"

I was wondering about that too, as RT grips are more like atv-size and the GL1800 grips are longer, as would be the 6183s. One would think that something could be fabricated ... i.e. some type of end plug to fill the space under the final 'knobby', that extends from the end of the RT grip underneath to the endcap on the 6183.

... Perhaps something like a small piece of PVC that fits as a 'sleeve' inside the 6183 and supports the rest of the rubber. Lamont?

You could use a sleeve but I never put those in my other grips either so it's not an issue for me.
