• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

3 weeks ago I went to a Riders Edge 2 wheel training course and passed the written, but pulled a wheely on the 2nd day of the riding portion, fell off the bike and got some road rash and couldnt complete the riding portion of the course

not to lose time, the following week I went to a 2 day S/TEP (3 wheel) training course in Eustis, FL (about an hour north of Orlando) and passed that course with flying colors, got my endorsement, went to DMV the next day and got my license and now am a very happy puppy riding my RT-S legally.... my brother and I rode from Melbourne up to Jetty Park on US 1 and back and had a great time

now, yesterday (monday) I went back to redo the first day of the 2 wheel course (which is held at the local Harley dealer - Space Coast HD)

today, I go back to (hopefully) complete the 2nd day of the 2 wheel riding portion and I am going to ride my Spyder to the course - lets hope my Spyder doesnt get TP'd sitting in front of the HD dealership..... lol

will I ever ride a 2 wheeler? most likely not

I just dont like to leave things incomplete........ wish me luck ;)

You don't need luck; you're going to pass with flying colors! We're just waiting to hear of the sucessful conclusion... :ohyea: :congrats:

Good luck

Been there and done it on a vespa 50 years ago. You will enjoy your spyder.

I'm going to an S/TEP class this weekend, and supposed to be only 3 wheels there. I'm looking forward to a bunch more safety tips and did not want to attend a 2 wheel class since the braking, cornering etc are so much different. I'm looking forward to a good time and will use that to get my endorsement too!

thanks all

here's the run down.....

they use Beull Blasts 500cc bikes for the class....

during the practice session today I tipped the bike doing a tight figure eight - no injuries, no damage.... my right leg just doesnt move like it used to so I couldnt stop myself from just letting the bike tip over on its side.... :banghead::banghead:

completed all practice exercises, did the eval, and I AM DONE!:yes::doorag:

then, when signing off at the end of the class I showed one of the instructors my license with the trike course endorsement and he started laughing.... I asked him what was funny, and he said "DMV made a mistake and gave you the standard bike endorsement instead of the S/TEP endorsement so you didnt need to complete this course"

:banghead::banghead:

well, its done, its off my list of things to do

now I can focus on installing some mods this week

3 WHEELERS

3 WHEELERS: South Carolina only require a regular drivers license to operate any vehicle with 3 wheels... even 2 wheelers with side-carts are considered 3 wheels... take the side-cart off, and you'd best have your motorcycle endorsement on your drivers license....

John - thanks for that post - I didnt realize they were here... their shop is about 10-15 minutes from my house... will have to go over there some time to look at their creations

Congratulations! Where about in Melbourne are you? There are at least three other Spyder ryders, including me, in the Melbourne area.
