• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

GoPro Mount

I didn't notice any rolling shutter artifacting going on there….and if anything you'd see it on the trees….

The roll I spoke of is due to the inherent vibrations of my 2008GS. The RT being the touring model is probably a lot smoother, and I believe that is what JT has. Also, the roll was most noticeable when at idle, on my spyder.

Please not that these types of mounts have the camera putting the "balls" in tension so you'll have to make sure that the camera sits on top of the mount to put the "balls" in compression....the proper way....should be no problem for you hackers out there.

Yes, I have a RT, and I did notice from time to time at idle a little movement in the body of the Spyder.

For vibration isolation you should check out ebay and check out the mounts used on RC quadcopters and hexacopters...there's one that consists of two CF plates with silicone ball shaped dampers that cost anything up to around $50.

Try this...

I had something similar. Its cost was over $75, and those dampers did nothing to help with the vibration. Of course, that doesn't mean that it wouldn't help in someone else's application.:dontknow:
