• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Hi every one
I am thinking of purchasing a GoPro HERO3+: Black Edition or a Sony Video Camera with 3-Inch LCD. Anyone have or use either one. Pros, Cons Any input will help. I think Lamonster uses a GoPro not sure.

Thanks for the Help

I have the 3+ Black Edition. It's great. I have the LCD BacPac screen and I can watch it live also on my iPhone via GoPro wifi app.

I have both the Sony (with Live Remote) and the GoPro 3+ Black. I bought the Sony even though I've been a long time GoPro user. I liked that the Sony was GPS enabled and that you can overlay the GPS data into your movie. But in my first movie, I found that the speed data did not match the speed in the video (there's a delay - for instance, you're stopped but the speed data shows you're moving, or you're accelerating but the speed data shows you're decelerating). So I put the Sony on my Segway (Yes, I'm spoiled. But that's because I don't have any kids ;)).

Just yesterday I experimented with the 3+ on the Spyder, mounted via suction cup to the left side of the trunk. I was surprised that there wasn't more vibration in the video. I have the LCD Touch BacPAC to help me frame the shot. I will be trying other mounting locations and methods in the future.

I also experimented with a couple of software that allows me to overlay the GPS data from the Zumo (I have the RT Limited) into my GoPro video. I tried DashWare and Race Render 3. I ended up buying Race Render. Syncing the GPS data to the video was the hardest part but I liked the end product. By the way, I found the same issue with the speed data not matching the video. I attribute the issue to how/when the GPS device logs the data (but I'm no expert).

All things considered, I prefer the GoPro. The camera is smaller and there are tons of mounting options and accessories. And the image quality is top notch.

And for those who may be asking, "Where's the video?" - I need to do some more editing and then I'll post the test footage on YouTube.

Ryde safe!

I have the GoPro Hero 3 black and like it

I have a couple of other cameras but they don't do as well as the GoPro

the newest version, Hero 3+ has some nice new features that I really would love to have but don't want to spend another $300+ for the new one.....
