I mounted my GoPro Hero 4 on the flat black plastic plate on top of the dash. It works great there, as long as I keep the windshield clean. I chose that spot for taking videos and it works very well.

Yep I do the same on my F3. Works great although the tinted shield kinda doesn't look the best. Since I use a GoPro Max 360 I want to see if I can put it on the trunk rack.
