• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Just grabbed my Google Glasses off the UPS truck. So far they are pretty neat. Turn by turn directions , Web, Email and text all in my right eye. All with flawless voice control.

Ill report later on Spyder uses . I think there will be a few….

Google Glass

Last I read there were at least 3 States litigating the use of Google Glass Technology when in control of a motor vehicle. :yikes: Just reporting. All I got as a kid was a 9 transistor radio and a slide rule. :roflblack::roflblack:

I don't agree at all as to wearing while driving any vehicle, we have enough distractions on our roads already! :(

I love tech gadgets! Let us know what you think after a week or so.

Above is a better picture of the glasses on me. The above picture gives you a better idea of view. They are actually at an angle above it.

It is strange that they put the radio in the center of a car. I find myself more distracted tuning my radio than anything else. I also hate having to dial my phone from the car display.

However so far I do like having the display above my sight line. It is actually above your eye quite a bit. Kinda like glancing up for info. Has no blockage of normal vision at all.

As far as laws to ban from car,,, they already have tint laws, speeding laws, and many others I pay no attention to. And I bet most people travel 56 in a 55. and 66 in a 65. If you do you have broken the law. Just another one to ignore…

I agree some people DO NOT need any more distractions. And I hate texting in a car. It is by far the worst thing to do. I won't do it. The reason is simple ,,,, I can't pay attention to my surrounding when I'm looking back and forth texting. So I know my limitation.
However some just can't stop themselves … That is why we have laws.

Don't believe the hype on the internet. The glasses make some business owners mad because it can record video instantly. However , last time I checked nearly every phone in the world could.

Its hard to explain what I mean by the display being above the eye line. You have to WANT to look at the display. It isn't forced into you eye. I had much rather take 1millisecond to glance up at map or see who is calling than I had to look to the right in a vehicle.

And also Im not recommending anyone speed or break a law. Everyone should do what they consider to be right and safe. And Ill keep my other eye out for ya…..:roflblack:

I dont remember them having transistor radios when I was a kid... :roflblack:

Distraction wise. How do they compare to a cars heads up display?

True heads up display like the old Corvettes had is really annoying. At least to me it was. I used to keep mine off. And I paid extra for it. Glass is completely off until you ask for it. So it technically it isn't a distraction till you wake it up.
