This past Thursday I took off from my home in Knoxville on my trusty 05 BMW-LT and 560 miles later arrived in Cuba, MO. The next morning I headed over to Cowtown to meet Len and picked up my 2012 RT-LTD. My Beemer never failed me in our six years together but it was time for me to make a change and of all the choices out there the spyder was the only one that said take me home.
For the past few months I have been reading the hundreds of post on Spyderlovers and even occasionally reaching out for some advice. The feedback has been impressive and dead on. It’s comforting to know that there is such a vast knowledge base out there and it’s only a few key strokes away. Oh yes I have had a keen interest in the Lamonster Project.
I need to give a shout out to Len and all the good folks at Cowtown. Everything went smooth as silk. The bike was ready when I arrived. Len took the time to go over every item with me and answer all my questions. The paperwork was completed and before I knew it I was on my way home.
This was the first time I have ever had a 650 mile ‘get acquainted’ ride. I avoided the interstates as much as possible and took as may back roads through MO, IL, KY, and TN as I could. Once again the crew at Cowtown did a great job with setting her up because the spyder ran flawlessly all the way home. I did experience some growing pains the first day with the spyder drifting but the next day I was much more comfortable and confident. My only regret was I didn’t have a little more time to explore more of the back roads and get to take in more of our great land.
I’m going to miss my old friend but I’m really looking forward to getting to know my new friend and meet more of the people who make up the Spyder nation.
