• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

We are mid way through an 8-day, 7-state trip and I'm really pleased with the mileage numbers that I'm getting on my loaded up RT-S. Let me set the stage by saying that I've been on here fussing about 23-28 mpg for some time now. I was so concerned when preparing for the trip that I bought a RotoPax one-gallon can for the frunk - just in case!

The last fill-up before leaving on the trip yielded a surprising 29.8 mpg - much better than usual. On the most recent leg of the trip (finishing up the Natchez Trace) I got as high as 37.6 mpg. Thusfar, for a variety of riding conditions I have been routinely getting 33-35 mpg. Who knows, a switch to Amsoil and driving like I have some sense, maybe 40 mpg is an attainable target? ...Gnirtsnod

The best we have done or recorded is 35 mpg's but other wise still high twenties low thirties. Your doing great but that number will vary allot...be safe and enjoy...:ohyea::ohyea:
 
A 50 mph speed limit on the Natchez Trace and consistent driving (minimal shifting) helped me get the 37+. Not likely to happen on a routine basis, though. I am excited to be getting 30+ numbers, though. I was afraid I'd be stuck in the 25 - 28 mpg range forever.

Going to the Dragon and Cherohala Skyway next. The numbers might not be as impressive.

That's great mileage. I do well to get above 30. Wow, by your Avatar, you have been doing some traveling on your RT, all you need is California to fill that map in.:thumbup:

If you look real closely in the Gulf of Mexico, it says that these are two-wheel states, not three. I'm just starting the three-wheel map. Will post when I return.

No passenger, but am fully loaded with a T-bag back seat bag and every storage compartment is full. The downside of being the only Spyder is that the others throw me their spare gear. ...Gnirtsnod

No doubt; pushing the nose of these bikes at speed soaks up the fuel... :shocked:
That's why I try to stay at or below 65mph, whenever i can.
