• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Good Luck in your new endeavor Lamont

I didn't want to put what I'm about to say in the other thread dealing with heads up on the laser alignment, and I don't know if a thread has been started reference Lamont's life decision, so I apologize if there has been one already started.

With the above said, Lamont I want to wish you all the best in your new endeavor. I know that you have given this decision a lot of thought, and you will be in our (Cindy and My) thoughts and prayers. I do hope that this will help you in all of many life experiences that you may be facing. I know all of us here at and in Spyderlovers think a lot of you and want only the best for you.

If there is every anything that I can do to help, please let me know.

the biggest problem that comes from anyone working for themselves is that they generally wind up with a pain in the Arse for a boss. (I Know)

I worked for myslef 30+ years, I wasn't the boss, I had hundreds of bosses, [customers].
And my Credo was; The customer was always right,

''But'' only when they were right...nojoke

Having been doing this gig for over 35 years; it's no fun when it's your name on the front door...
...but it can be satisfying on a good day!

I agree. "Fun" and "Profit" don't belong along side each other in the same sentence.

My wife and I have two knitting machines. We both enjoy using them. I like making a variety of stocking caps and dog sweaters on mine, wife likes making baby clothes/blankets on hers. Many times we have been asked, "Why don't you open up an Ebay store and sell your stuff? You could make a MINT!"

I can see it now:

Me:"Honey, are you ready to go on that motorcycle ride we've had planned for 2 months tomorrow?" -

Her:"Oh, didnt I tell you? I got an order for 25 baby blankets and you have 17 hats to make to go out in 3 days! We are stuck here for a few more weeks."

:gaah:

Nope. Ain't gonna happen!

Thanks Bro. :doorag:

For those of you that have no idea what he's talking about I quit the job I had for 14 years (I was a partner not employee) and decided that my heart is really into the Spyder and has been since they first came out. I want to do more with them and hope I can provide enough income to make up for what I just gave up. There's only been 5 years of my life that I wasn't self employed and when I quit having fun doing what I'm doing I look for something else. Right now I've had a huge load taken off my shoulders and I'm looking forward to new and exciting adventures to come. :doorag:

Good luck and lots of customers for your new services. A little far for me to do, but thanks for all the advice, SL and I have been given over the years.

Congrats!

Ive been self employed myself for 25 years, definitely was scary at first, but looking back I'd definitely do it again. Just hang in there and enjoy the ride. Lol

I too have been self employed for 33 years in sales. Looks like I'm going to have to start planning my vacations up around the smokies with a stop by Moshiem, Tenn., for some work.

Happiness and family are FAR more valuable than money. But with your creativity and drive, I'm betting that you'll make up the delta pretty quickly.
