• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Good info on oil

Here's the thing....

if you are alphabetically challenged you can simply use the oil recommended by the manufacture who has done the work already and be safe. On the other hand there is a wealth of in formation here to help you pick something else. Just make sure you meet the spec's needed. :lecturef_smilie:

It all boils down to a pretty simple equation.

998 - Be sure to get MA2 Motorcycle oil of the correct viscosity (pretty much anything between 0w-40 and 15w-40) with no SM rating. MA will work but there are so many good MA2 choices out there, why risk it?

1330 - Be sure to get at least MA rated motorcycle oil of the correct viscosity ( same as the 998) and you're good to go.

For most, leaning towards the higher cold viscosity number is a better way to go. Unless you're parking your spyder outside in sub-zero temps. Then the 0w or 5w makes sense.
