• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Good Day - Bad Day

Bad. Got hit in the tail on my Spyder last week. Broke my reversing light. Culprit took off without giving me all his details. What he did give me turned out false. But I did get his registration number. Was initially worried either the car or plate was stolen.

Good. An excuse to get a better looking reversing light. Got a 100cm round LED from KMart for AU$20. It's a truck / trailer / caravan clearance lamp. Works well.

Bad. When reporting the incident to the police, they questioned the roadworthiness of my rear tyre. Below the centre wear markers.

Good. Police found culprit.

Bad. Have to buy a new rear tyre (even though it's still not on canvas ;)).

Good. Decided to hunt down a car tyre. The Kenda is AU$350 plus $50 fitting. Got a Toyo Proxes 4 for AU$185. Cost me an additional $27 for a 36mm socket to remove the wheel so I could take it to have tyre fitted. Actually have Toyo Proxes 4 fitted to my ute (245/40-18) as does my son to his car (235/45-17). Toyo has a good reputation downunder such that they rarely need to advertise. My local Toyo (multi-franchised) dealer says he's never had a warranty issue with a Toyo in the nearly 30 years since he's had the franchise. Several Spyders downunder are running Proxes (4 or T1R).

FYI. AU$100 ~ US$92 last time I looked.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune Dicko, at least you didn't get hurt.
Its good to hear that the Toyo that fits is available here in Oz. My rear is about half gone so I'll be looking for a replacement in next six months.
Recon I'll go for the Toyo too. Thanks for the info

So, you have Tire Nazis in the Great Down Under, where women glow and men plunder (never seen a glowing woman but sounds nice).

I've been very happy with my Toyo T1R. Better tire for less money that OEM. Can't beat that!

When you get a chance . . . . .

. . . . . post a picture of your new light.

Given the high marks it has gotten here, I am going to be ordering a Toyo T1R when the time comes. (and since I live over 1,400 miles from Lamont, I actually stand a chance of getting it!)

I just love those drivers that hit you, then lie and/or take off. Around here, most skip step two and just run - leaving their vehicle behind.

I wish you more luck than I had! :gaah: You have one thing going for you...Lamont already has one!

I did finally get my T1R.

Awesome tire. Very tractable back there. I really like it. I have not yet had the chance to try it in heavy rain but Lamont has and he says it's great.

Always thought it was "men chunder".
According to legend: Horses sweat, Men perspire and Women Glow. Glow is just a polite term for women looking hot and sweaty. Seen the video clip: Eric Prydz - Call on Me (uncensored version - raunchy, not that bad)? You'll know what I mean.
