Del Mar is beautiful. Used to do some surfing there in my more nimble days.

Brings back memories, Gene. We lived in LaJolla back in the late 80's and stabled our horses in Del Mar at a place called Peppertree Farms. That place is probably a subdivision today.

It was right on the edge of the Penasquitas Canyon where we could leave the stable and ride the 40 miles from the Pacific ocean all the way up to Poway, following the river up the canyon.

We also would go to the Del Mar fairgrounds to watch the horse show with the Standard Breds. One night I actually got to sit behind Bo Derek and right next to William Shatner, both of them are into (or were) Standard Breds. Sitting behind Bo was awesome.... Shatner, not so much.
