• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Going Blind....not really

I use the voice option thru my helmet speakers but when I need to see it a have dollar store readers that I wear on the tip of my nose.

Currently I wear 1.25 mag reading glasses.
My Garmin GPS sits on a ramline ball mount on my F3s.
If I wear my reading glasses the GPS is crystal clear but the road is blurry.
If I don't wear my reading glasses the GPS is blurry but the road is clear.
Other then going with bi-focal glasses are there any other options?

Varilux lenses.

I agree with you.
Lots of advice on this thread that basically details different ways to wear corrective lenses.
I even tried riding with a magnifying glass and nearly crashed.

You're looking for an inexpensive solution to a health problem. There isn't one.
As others have said, short of popping for some prescription lenses, just stop periodically to check your GPS and don't use it to navigate in heavy traffic.

Short answer...

If I wear my reading glasses the GPS is crystal clear but the road is blurry.
If I don't wear my reading glasses the GPS is blurry but the road is clear.

NO

If you wear a full face helmet with a flip-down shield. You can put the stick on reading glasses at the bottom. Not the best solution but it does work.

They're are or were free.......

Where can you get those from? :dontknow:

They are just a clear flexible magnifying plastic card about the size of credit card. Try AARP or your local old folks home. :roflblack: I don't remember seeing them for sale, I remember they were given out as a complementary gift.

Multifocal Glasses

Been using for several years. Great for me. Recently had cataract surgery. Don't need glasses anymore except for very small print. Don't use glasses anymore when driving.

safety glasses with magnification

I too use safety glasses with reading magnification built in. I don't need glasses for driving, just magnification for reading the small text on the GPS/radio. For me, I find that the options of clear/amber/darker color lenses work well for me and I don't have to worry about losing or breaking them as they're easy enough to find or buy online and have a spare pair for minimal cost as compared to a custom solution.
