• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Ok let me reword it. But I do think you and I are on same page....so let’s say for example I have the hero 7 WITHOUT a battery installed in it. I plug into the usb-c and want to start recording. Question = Will the camera power on and thus be ready to record?

Thanks

Ooooops......sorry. I understood that bit perfectly from your earlier post, and then replied leaving the answer to that out. The Hero 7 will not power on while it is plugged into a power supply. HOWEVER, that is only my recollection, as I don’t currently have it here to double check, which I always like to do before making assertions. I am 99% sure that is the case, however.

GoPro's are great but expensive. I went the cheap route and got the Ion Air camera at the time it cost less then 35.00. I did not want something so expensive I would have a heart attack if dropped stolen or lost. Just wanted it for insurance purposes. Paid off too when it captured an insurance claim incident that paid close to 2k in damages to my spyder. Video does not lie, got the run around until I told them I had video, transferred directly to claims after I told them that. Fully charged it will last about 2 hours and does not record while charging either. You can choose between helmet or ball mounts.

If your into high-end action camera, DJI will be hitting the action camera market soon (that might also be the last nail in GoPro's coffin).

If your not in a hurry I would wait for their product...

If your just looking for a nice and not so costly 4K action camera, look for the Yi brand, very capable at a reasonable price.
